Susan Sclafani
VP for Programs, Forum for World EducationSusan Sclafani works with the Forum for World Education to plan virtual and in-person programs, bringing business and education leaders together to focus on effective practices to educate children across the world. Dr. Sclafani worked at Pearson Education as VP, Program Management on a digital system of courses for K-12 English language arts and K-11 mathematics; served as Director of State Services for the National Center on Education and the Economy; and Managing Director of Chartwell, working with international organizations on education issues. As Assistant Secretary of Education for Vocational and Adult Education and Counselor to the Secretary of Education from 2001-2005, Dr. Sclafani was the US education representative to OECD and APEC and led the Mathematics and Science Initiative, the High School Redesign Initiative and the E-Language Learning Project with the Chinese Ministry of Education. Dr. Sclafani’s instructional leadership work at the Houston Independent School District culminated in the district’s win of the first Broad Prize for Outstanding Urban Districts in 2000.
