The speed of human evolution and the resulting changes present a series of challenges that our societies must face. Therefore, as centers of study, research and thought, we feel strongly committed to encourage the creation of ideas and promote new practices, which allow the region’s societies to be more inclusive, with greater access to information and the creation of knowledge.

This initiative’s main objective is to promote a space for debate and offer a comprehensive platform for the exchange of ideas, discussion and analysis on the current role of Latin America and the Caribbean in the global arena, as well as its implications and challenges.

The process of continual integration in Latin America and the Caribbean and the growing role of the region as a strategic, political and trading partner in today’s world order are among the topics of unique importance to be discussed.

The Forum will also address the effects of global geopolitical events on the region’s electoral processes, with special attention to the trends and cycles that are currently being created. This year, in addition, we cannot ignore the gigantic advances made by artificial intelligence technologies which, without a doubt will leave their mark, both in the world and in our region, specifically in the local economies, power relations, as well as in the development or decline of democracies and society.

This initiative aims to bring together prominent representatives of the main global and regional think tanks that focus on the study of the region´s particular dynamics. Also, to discuss and formulate proposals that contribute to the region´s development processes with equity.

The event will take place parallel to the Annual Regular Session of the United Nations General Assembly, in New York City, at the Union League Club on September 21 and 22, 2023, and is directed at academics and individuals involved in the political, economic and social sectors of the region.
