Jorge Liotti
Editor-in-Chief of the Political section and columnist of Argentina’s newspaper La NaciónEditor-in-Chief of the Political section and columnist of Argentina’s newspaper La Nación. Previously he worked in the newspaper Perfil, in the news agency DyN (Diarios y Noticias), in the newspaper Clarín, among others. In the international realm, he wrote for newspapers La Repubblica in Italy and El País in Colombia, and reported for SBS radio in Australia. He holds a degree in Journalism from the Universidad del Salvador (Argentina) and a Master’s degree in International Studies from the University of Birmingham (Great Britain), after obtaining a Chevening scholarship. He is a professor and researcher at the Universidad Católica Argentina (UCA), where for eight years he served as director of the Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism.
He graduated as a Film Producer from the National Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual Arts (INCAA). Last year, he published his first book “The Last Crossroads: Dilemmas of Argentine democracy”. The book sold well and was recognized during the election process of Javier Milei.
He authored the chapter “The Complex Relationship Between the News Media and the Political System in Argentina: From Co-optation to Polarization”, which appears in the book “Globalization, Media Policies & Cultural Markets in Latin America”, Palgrave, 2013.
He also co-authored the Model Curriculum for Journalism Education, developed by UNESCO in 2007, and contributed with the chapter “Journalistic Coverage and Writing: Journalism Specialized in Politics and Government”.
